Albania – Youth Summer Camp in Shkodra: "A great example of how a work of love can become a sign of communion and tradition"
Shkodra, Albania - June 2022 - The Youth Summer Camp in Shkodra, Albania, began on June 20 with the theme inspired by the film "Luke." Present were 780 children and youth, from elementary school to middle school, of all religions, 240 high school animators, led by the staff composed of Salesians, animators, and adults. Fr. Joseph Liano, SDB, wrote, "Beyond the numbers, what spurs us the most is the impact and resonance of this activity in the city. It is exciting to find so many parents interested in the summer games and hear, 'You are the only educational and reliable proposal for our children during the summer.' Credit to the Salesians who gave life and shape to this experience and, in a very special way, to the experienced animators, who are still the heart and soul of the games. More than an event, the Summer Camp in Shkodra is a great example of how a work of love enacted, shared among so many generations, can become a sign of communion and tradition in the heart of a city, for the sake of the little ones. In the end, these are memories that leave a mark of happiness and love in everyone's life."
