Brazil - Postnovices on mission in Barra do Garças: "Knowing Jesus is the best gift anyone can receive and give."
Barra do Garças, Brazil - July 2022 - From July 4 to 20, St. Anthony's Parish in Barra do Garças, a city located in southeastern Mato Grosso, welcomed Salesians in formation, students of theology and philosophy, who for their vacation period joined a missionary project. During this time, the Salesians who are in the post-novitiate stage got to know the parish, visiting the homes of families and carrying out daily oratory activities with the children of the "Don Bosco" community. They were thus able to experience an openness to listening, identify local problems and promote evangelization. They also animated the various liturgical initiatives, such as Eucharistic Adoration, Rosary, Stations of the Cross, and Eucharist. The last day of mission ended with Mass and the blessing of the cross of Salesian spirituality. "To know Jesus is the best gift anyone can receive and give; to have found Him was the most beautiful thing that happened in our lives, and to make Him known by our word and deeds is our joy," the postnovices said.
