Gatchina, Russia - July 2022 - The Salesians of Don Bosco have been working in Gatchina since 1992, a city located about 50 km from St. Petersburg, and are mainly concerned with the integral education of young people. Despite the pain of the war in Ukraine, with the end of restrictions due to the pandemic, the Salesians organized a Summer Camp for young people. Held from July 4 to 22, the event was attended by 40 children aged 8 to 14, animators aged 15 to 35, and two Salesian priests. Most of the children and animators are Orthodox. The program of the Summer Camp days included musical and theatrical workshops, group work, moral education meetings, team games, oratorian activities, and art workshops. Also, participants were able to go on some excursions and a train trip to the city of Luga, where the Salesians animate a small parish.
