United States – Higher education in a changing world
Newton, USA - August 2022 - From July 30 to August 3, the 27th General Assembly of the International Federation of Catholic Universities (FIUC) was held at "Boston College" in Newton, Massachusetts, United States. The Salesian Pontifical University (UPS) also took part, represented by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Michal Vojtáš. Speeches and discussions explored issues related to the legacy and transformation of Catholic higher education in a changing world. In addition to the challenges posed by the pandemic and the uncertainty of the future, the panel discussions offered opportunities to discuss, exchange best practices, and build collaborations around common projects. The most debated topics included the meaning and impact of Catholic universities in contemporary society; Catholicism for a new university leadership; new frontiers of research; university pastoral care and global engagement for the common good.
