Tanzania - Salesian Province of Eastern Africa (AFE) Province Rectors' Meeting

Dar Es Salam Tanzania – September 2022 - From September 7th to 9th the Rectors of all the communities of the province of Easter Africa, (AFE) except those of Sudan, met at Dar Es Salaam. The Community leaders of Sudan did not come because they could not get the re-entry permit on time. This is a requirement for those intending to go back to Sudan. Two days before the meeting, there were meetings of various commissions such as Formation, Youth Ministry, Communication, Finance and Salesian Family, where the department heads presented the report and vision for the future. This was shared in the Rectors' meeting in the following days.

The first day of the meeting focused on Salesian Leadership Governance and Animation. The other items on the agenda discussed were the report of the extraordinary visitation that was done earlier in the year, sharing from the communities, presentation of reports from the commissions and finalizing the calendar for the year 2022-2023. The meeting ended on the last day with an outing and a fraternal meal, after which there were a few affectionate and profound moments of sharing, which gave everyone a sense of belonging to the province and each other. It was a true manifestation that the province has grown, and we are on the right path. Everyone could only thank God and Don Bosco for the many years of growth.
