Brazil - Fr. Gabriel Romero presided over Curatoria of Lorena Postnovitiate and Theological Studentate of Alto da Lapa

Brazil - October 2022 - On Oct. 19, the Councilor for the America Southern Cone Region, Fr. Gabriel Romero, presided over the Curatorium of the Lorena Postnovitiate, which brought together Fr. Francisco Inácio, Superior of the Province of Brazil-Recife (BRE), Fr. Justo Ernesto Piccinini, Superior of the Province of Brazil-São Paulo (BSP), and Fr. Gilson Marcos da Silva, Superior of the Province of Brazil-Porto Alegre. After praise and Mass, during which the postnovices presented applications to renew their religious professions, Fr. Romero and the Provincials met with the formators to evaluate the pastoral and intellectual dimensions of formation. Then the reports of the Rector and the Community Economer were presented. In the afternoon, the Salesians in formation presented their evaluation, followed by a meeting with the Regional Councilor and the Provincials. At the end, the concluding minutes of the Curatorium's annual evaluation were read. The following day Fr. Romero presided over the Curatorium of the Theological Studentate of Alto da Lapa, São Paulo, which brought together the Provincial Superiors of all six Brazilian Provinces and the Superior of the Mozambique VP (MOZ). After the Eucharist presided over by Fr. Romero, the sharing took place, by action groups, where each of the Salesians in formation presented, from the human, spiritual, intellectual and pastoral dimensions, the progress and challenges of their formation journey. The meeting continued with the Provincials' dialogue and listening with the formation community and the Rector, and concluded with the Provincials' orientations to the Salesian community.
