Venezuela - Salesian Youth Ministry of Salesian Province "St. Luke" accompanies children, adolescents, and youth in difficulty

29 November 2022

Caracas, Venezuela - November 2022 - The Salesian Youth Ministry of the "St. Luke" Province of Venezuela (VEN) continues to be a sign of hope among the young people who participate in the various Provincial projects. Most of the children, adolescents, and young people who attend them experience very difficult personal situations that cause them serious wounds and much suffering. Thanks to Salesian projects and constant accompaniment, following personal processes of recovery, growth, and maturation, the beneficiaries can become true educators of their peers, with whom they share the same path. Thus, they are gradually prepared for future tasks of educational service, at work, in the family, and in society. Among the various Salesian apostolates, after the pandemic, the Sons of Don Bosco supported a group of 200 refugee children in the Petare neighborhood near Caracas. These continue to be times of hard work, but also of gratification, as many of these minors have already begun attending Youth Centers, Oratories, and schools, and are preparing for the sacramental life.
