Dili, East Timor - January 2023 - In the past few days, in view of the Feast of Don Bosco, the Past Pupils of East Timor initiated many activities to pay homage to the Saint of Youth. The main theme of all the initiatives was "Human Fraternity as a leaven to strengthen peace in society." In fact, on Saturday, January 28, they organized a peace march, which was also attended by the Representative of the Prime Minister of Timor-Leste and Deputy Minister of Social Solidarity and Inclusion, Signi Chandrawati Verdial. The procession left in the early morning hours from the "Don Bosco" gymnasium in Comoro-Dili and reached the monument to Our Lady at the Lecidere area at 9 p.m. The authorities present urged the participants to always follow the teachings of St. John Bosco, to be good young people, and contribute to peace-building in Timor-Leste. The march was also enlivened by the musical entertainment of the group "Saints Peter and Michael." Then, on the same day, the Past Pupils organized an evening market during which several bands, all from Salesian Family circles, performed.
