Atede, Uganda - May 2023 - During a visit to animate Salesian presences in Uganda, Fr. Alfred Maravilla, General Councilor for the Missions, had the opportunity to visit the Caritas Sisters of Jesus (SCJ) in Atede, near Gulu, in the Northern Region of Uganda. The SCJs, the 11th group of the Salesian Family, arrived in Uganda in 2019 to run the health clinic and women's advocacy center in the Salesian parish of Atede, Gulu. Their presence has been blessed by local vocations. This year they have two novices preparing for their first profession - scheduled for Feb. 2, 2024 - as well as four postulants and three aspirants.
