La Esmeralda, Venezuela - May 2023 - From Sunday, May 7 to Tuesday, May 9, the provincial visit to La Esmeralda 2023 took place. Fr. Rafael Montenegro, Superior of the Salesian Province of Venezuela (VEN), visited the apostolic community of La Esmeralda, in the state of Amazonas. They were days of fraternity and renewal for the Salesian missionaries and the entire apostolic community. Fr. Montenegro was accompanied by Fr. Nelson Briceño, in charge of Mission Animation of the VEN Province, Sr. Marta Liliana Riccioli, Visiting Councilor of the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, and Sr. Henar Alcalde, Provincial Vicar of the FMA of Venezuela. During this Provincial visit to La Esmeralda, everyone had the opportunity to dialogue and exchange with the teaching staff of the school that animates the community, as well as with the residents of the house, and during the days of the visit, they experienced the joy of being and feeling like a family that walks together, even if at a distance.
