Las Palmas, Spain - May 2023 - On May 12 and 13, the South Zone Regional Federation of Past Pupils and Past Pupils of Don Bosco celebrated their Federal Assembly at the Salesian College in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, on account of the Salesian Family's centenary of presence. The first day began with greetings from President Fr. José Puerto Aparicio and Provincial Delegate for the Salesian Family Fr. Luis Fernando Álvarez. After prayer and words from Las Palmas Alumni President Fr. Gaspar Sarmiento, the presidential table was formed. After the presentation of information, reports, and accounts, it was the youth’s turn: Pablo Cuervas, president of the Granada association, together with Carmen Gómez, presented the report and news of the Past Pupils youth groups, and of the Regional Youth Meeting held during the month of October in Pozoblanco. Next, the Extraordinary Assembly was held, where applications for silver badges were presented. The second day began with the formative theme "The EX.DB Teams," developed by Fr. Pedro Cantos Luque, president of the "Fundación Juan Bosco Siglo XXI" and member of the confederal executive. The assembly continued with speeches by Confederation President Fr. Diego Aragón and other members of the confederal executive. They informed everyone on the current situation of the national confederation, as well as the presentation of the next Assembly to be held in Oviedo in June. The day continued with the remaining reports from the committees, the federal executive, and speeches from each of the local associations present, where they explained their current situation as well as the activities and projects they are working on. Then the Eucharist was celebrated, at the end of which Fr. Daniel Martín Sánchez was awarded the Silver Badge.
