28 April 2025

Italy – April 2025 – On April 23, the Presidents of the Federations of Don Bosco Past Pupils from Europe and the Middle East, including representatives from Tunisia, gathered for a meeting. The event aimed to review the status of the federations, evaluate the work of the past quarter, and plan for the in-person European meeting to be held in Rome from October 23–26, 2025.

Convened by Valerio Martorana, a member of the Presidency of the World Confederation of Don Bosco Past Pupils and Regional Councilor for Europe and the Middle East, the online meeting began with a prayer led by Brother Domenico Duc Nam Nguyen, World Delegate for Don Bosco Past Pupils, with a special remembrance of Pope Francis.

The Presidents and representatives of various federations then shared updates. Participants included Giovanni Costanza, President of the Italian Federation; Diego Aragon, President of the Spanish Federation, with Clara Contreras; Amanda Cachia and Valerie Vella from the Maltese Federation; Robert Mruk, President of the Slovak Federation; Inacio Rodrigues from the United Arab Emirates; Nawand Ferchichi Zouaoui and Assyl Ben Hammed from Tunisia; Vedrana Cvijin, President of Croatia; and Hanna Adorján, representative of Hungary. Also present were Bryan Magro, World President, and Alessandro Pensabene, European Youth Councilor.

“It was a pleasure to participate in this meeting and listen to the activities and projects of our European organizations. So much work is being done for young people to support Salesian efforts. As Pope Francis wanted, we must stay close to God, especially to the poor and the most in need,” emphasized Bryan Magro, World President.
