Liberia - A lively demonstration of faith, culture and brotherhood: the feast of Mary Help of Christians
Monrovia, Liberia - May 2025 - The Salesian Family in the Blessed Stephen Sandor community, together with the students and past pupils of the Mary Help of Christians Salesian High School, celebrated the feast of Mary Help of Christians in the parish of the Holy Innocents of Matadi a few days ago. The event brought together the entire community in a lively demonstration of faith, culture and brotherhood, during which the school's students showcased the rich cultural heritage of Liberia through various performances. On 24 May, the highlight of the celebration, Fr Stephen Esuk presided at the solemn Mass, concelebrated by Fr Augustine Okeke. In his homily, Fr Esuk emphasised Mary's significant role in the Church, the world and Don Bosco's life, urging the faithful to deepen their relationship, love and devotion to Mary Help of Christians. There followed moments of fun, with games and entertainment, and a colourful procession in honour of Mary Help of Christians. Finally, on the same occasion, some Salesian Cooperators renewed their promises, reaffirming their commitment to the Salesian mission.
