India - St Dominic Savio reimagined as an influencer in the new book by Fr Gilbert Choondal, SDB
Kochi, India - June 2025 - In the new book by Fr Gilbert Choondal, Salesian educator of the India-Bangalore Province, St Dominic Savio is imagined as an influencer, who speaks to the youth of today in an innovative language. The 72-page book was published by Don Bosco Publications in Vennala, Kochi, and presented in the presence of Cardinal Felipe Neri, Archbishop of Goa. Each of the eight chapters, written in the first person, reflects on the main themes of the saint's life - the faith-rich family roots, the deep love for God, the joy in holiness, the power to inspire peers and the serenity in facing death - offering both spiritual depth and closeness to young people. To those in search of meaningful models, Fr Choondal proposes Dominic Savio, not only as a saint, but also as a companion who, despite his short life, continues to enlighten the path of new generations.
