Penha, Brazil – October 2025 – From 3 to 6 October, representatives of the Salesian Provinces of Brazil gathered in the city of Penha, Santa Catarina, for the annual meeting of the Parishes and Shrines Sector of the Conference of Salesian Provinces of Brazil (CISBRASIL). It was a time for communion, planning and strengthening the Salesian missionary network. Coordinated by Fr Ricardo Carlos, Superior of the Province of Campo Grande, Brazil (BCG) and Provincial contact person for the CISBRASIL sector, the meeting was attended by representatives from all the Salesian Provinces in the country. Fr Ricardo Carlos led the reflections on the accompaniment of parishes and shrines in the Provinces, emphasising the importance of consolidating the work of the network, a principle that guides the entire Salesian Network in Brazil (RSB) in its pastoral and educational activities, in order to strengthen the spirit of cooperation, shared responsibility and communion, fundamental values of the Salesian charism. The group also devoted itself to studying  ‘The educative and pastoral proposal of the parish entrusted to the Salesian community: an option for the working classes’, exploring the evangelising dimension of the Salesian mission and its commitment to the most vulnerable communities. In addition, it analysed the Action Plan of the National Commission of Salesian Parishes and Shrines; the creation of a national database of Salesian parishes and shrines; and the development of a vocational portal.
