Mexico - Opening of the diocesan inquiry for Sr. Antonieta Böhm

Cuautitlan, Mexico - May 2017 - On 7 May, in the cathedral of Cuautitlán, the Mexican diocese where St Juan Diego, the visionary of the Virgin of Guadalupe, was born, the solemn opening took place of the Diocesan Inquiry for the cause of beatification and canonization of Sr. Antonieta Böhm, Daughter of Mary Help of Christians (FMA). The Bishop of the Diocese, Bishop Guillermo Ortiz Mondragón, presided. More than 150 FMAs were present, led by their Provincial, Sr. Guadalupe Torres, several members of the Salesian Family, the Provincial of Mexico-Mexico, Fr Gabino Hernández Paleta, and many devotees of the Servant of God. It was a great event of the Church. During the Eucharistic celebration, members of the tribunal and those of the Historical Commission were sworn in, as well as the Postulator General, Fr Pierluigi Cameroni, SDB, and the Vice-Postulator, Sr. Guadalupe Chávez, FMA. The ceremony was followed by a musical based on the life of Sr Böhm performed by students of the Laura Vicuña Educational Centre in Coacalco.
