Papua New Guinea - Water reservoir tanks donated to school by New Rochelle Salesian Missions

03 October 2017

Araimiri, Papua New Guinea - September 2017 – The Don Bosco Araimiri Secondary School is located in a very remote area and is without even the most basic necessities. Recently, the Salesian Missions in New Rochelle (USA) have donated eight water reservoir tanks, thereby giving students access to clean drinking water without their having to draw from unsafe sources which, especially during periods of drought, are a cause of epidemics. The Salesian mission of Araimiri was launched in 1980 by Fr Valeriano Barbero, Fr Rolando Fernandez and Salesian coadjutor Joseph Kramar. Currently, the school educates 250 students.
