Jabłonka, Poland - June 2018 - On June 3, on the initiative of the Missionary Voluntary Service "Młodzi Światu" in Cracow (PLS Province), the XVII edition of the "Orawa for the Children of Africa" event took place, coinciding with the "Orawa Child's Day". Like last year, the event was organized in favor of "Don Bosco Child and Life Mission" - the work for street children and AIDS patients in Kampala, Uganda. Last year's fund-raising covered one-third of the Kampala house's expenses and provided food for over 160 young people. This is why the Director of the house, Fr Elie Nyandwi, SDB, thanked the people of the Orawa region for their support. The event began with a greeting to guests and a concert, followed by a rich program of activities. The volunteers also went to the parishes of the Orawa region and during the Masses celebrated by the Salesians offered their testimonies to ask for support for Ugandan children. In July, two volunteers from the Salesian Missionary Volunteer Service in Krakow, Sylwia and Ewelina, will leave for Uganda.
