Vietnam - A special Missionary Day

25 October 2018

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam - October 2018 – This year the Missionary Day of the Vietnam Province was celebrated in a special way. Salesians, novices and students invited two former missionaries to Vietnam: Fr Germain Lagger, SDB, and Salesian brother Cesare Bullo. Both were missionaries in Vietnam between 1960 and 1975, the year they were expelled from the new communist regime; at the time, Fr Lagger was a formator and Br Bullo an economer: they had hundreds of students, young novices and Salesians under their pastoral and educational care. The day paid tribute to the two as well as all the missionaries who arrived in Vietnam from various countries. During the day their story was told in detail through videos and testimonies and showing the work done in the past.
