Poland - Patronal Festival of Krakow Province ... and more!

Oświęcim, Poland - August 2019 - On 17 August, on the day of St. Hyacinth, the patron saint of the Krakow Province (PLS), there was a meeting of the Salesian PLS directors. The Eucharistic celebration, presided by Fr Tadeusz Rozmus, Councilor for the Central and North Europe Region, accompanied by other Salesians from the Province, took place in the ancient chapel dedicated to St. Hyacinth, recently restored. The jubilees of various Salesians were celebrated and the awards ceremony for the Provincial Prize "Mir", to Fr Stanisław Łagocki, a Salesian from Skawa, was held in what was a beautiful artistic and cultural setting. In fact, since 2013, the Jackowe Granie Festival (Music of Saint Hyacinth) also takes place, this year from 15 to 17 August, offering a rich program including: presentations of the various films dedicated to Don Bosco, the “Running like Don Bosco” race, games for children, a family game of the Municipality, concerts, dances and the solemn Eucharist. August 16 was the birthday of the Patron Saint of Oświęcim, St. John Bosco.
