Germany - Salesian International Sports Games

Essen, Germany - October 2019 - More than 1,200 young people from 13 European countries will visit the German Ruhr region from April 28 to May 3, 2020, when the "Don Bosco" Secondary School in Essen-Borbeck hosts the XXXI Edition of the Salesian International Sports Games (pgsi2020). For the second time, after 2007, the city of Duisburg will be the stage for sports at its "Wedau Sportpark", which offers prime conditions for Basketball, Five-a-side football, Ping-Pong and Volleyball competitions. Fr Otto Nosbisch, Director of “St. Johannesstift ”of Essen, underscored that what makes Salesian sports games special is that they follow Don Bosco's educational ideas, where it is not important to win, but to meet and make new friends that will contribute to encouraging the idea of a united and peaceful Europe. At the beginning of December 2019, the games website will be released online – www.pgsi2020.de Registrations can be made up to 31 January 2020.
