Germany - 100 years of Salesians in Bamberg
Bamberg, Germany - October 2019 - In December 1919, Fr Georg Wagner started the work of the Salesians in the German city of Bamberg. Today, 100 years later, the "Don Bosco Jugenwerk" has become an institution with a wide range of offers for young people in need. About 350 people attended to celebrate the anniversary with the Salesians of Bamberg, including many friends and supporters, Salesians, volunteers, staff and local political and business representatives. The children of the "Zirkus Giovanni" project and the "Giovanni" day center entertained guests with a circus show. Participants were also able to visit the recently renovated rooms of the "St. Josefsheim", where 20 children and young people benefit from assisted accommodation.
