Vietnam - First meeting of Senior Salesian
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam - October 2019 - On 28 and 29 October, the meeting of Senior Salesians took place for the first time in the history of the Province of Vietnam (VIE). The event was celebrated in the new provincial house. The participants belong to the first generation of Salesians who were inspired and trained by Salesian missionaries from 1952 to 1975. In 1975, many of them were in their early twenties and had not yet finished Theology when foreign missionaries were expelled from the country. Each of them, in his own role and function, carried out the responsibility of transmitting the spirituality and charism of the Salesians to the next generation. Although they have been cut off from relations with the Salesian Congregation for a number of years, they have transmitted love for Mary Help of Christians, Don Bosco and for poor young people.
