Tijuana, Mexico - December 2019 - As part of the activities to promote Mission Animation in the Salesian Province of the West United States (SUO), a group of young adult volunteers visited the Salesian community in Tijuana on the weekend of Thanksgiving. The young people served at the Salesian refectory, "El Desayunador", where more than 1,000 meals are served to disadvantaged people every day. They visited an orphanage for children with AIDS, entertaining them with various games. And finally, they visited a reception center for asylum seekers, having dinner together with over 100 young people, adults and children, who all live together, entertaining them with a number of recreational activities. On their return, the mission participants shared with the Salesians the lived experience that had changed their life perspective forever.
