Spain - Christmas solidarity activities of Salesian houses

Spain - December 2019 - Among the various solidarity activities carried out during the Christmas period by Spain's Salesian houses there is the food collection called "Operación Kilo", one of the traditionally most participated initiatives. The Salesians of Cadiz organized the first phase of the operation and with the help of 300 volunteers collected 4,304 kilos of food; as much is expected in the second phase of the collection. The Salesians of Ourense organized a solidarity music festival with well-known groups and free admission - provided that each spectator entered with at least one kilo of non-perishable food. The Salesians of Trinidad with "Operación Potito" collected 13,500 products for children; the Salesians of Montilla collected 3,000 products for children, which added to those collected in Córdoba and Málaga, among the various houses, and will guarantee feeding the most needy children. Other initiatives were: "solidarity snacks", "solidarity sandwiches" and the collection of toys.
