Belgium – DBI and other Salesian institutions partners of SAAM project

Bruxelles, Belgium – February 2020 – Taking place in Brussels from 10 to 12 February is the "zero meeting" of Project SAAM (Supporting Alliance for African Mobility). The Spanish Vocational Education and Training Center “SanViator” was awarded € 4 million by the European Commission to coordinate 32 VET organizations across 8 EU Member States (Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Malta, Portugal and Spain) and 13 African countries (Angola, Benin, Cabo Verde, Eritrea, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, Nigeria, Senegal, Sudan and Tunisia). Don Bosco Tech Africa is a full partner of SAAM, providing 80% of the African VET centers involved in the project. “CNOS FAP Nazionale” (the federation of Don Bosco VET providers in Italy) and “Tech Don Bosco” (the foundation of Don Bosco VET providers in Spain – Santiago el Mayor Province) are also full partner of SAAM. “Don Bosco International” (DBI) is an associated partner, as well as a member of the Steering Committee of SAAM. This alliance targets the development of new curricula, methodologies, technologies and management in VET, as well as supports training, job-shadowing and knowledge acquisition on internationalization, transparency tools and educational pathways. The project started in January 2020 and is going to last 40 months, concluding in 2023. Hundreds of VET trainers and students from European Union and African countries will be involved.
