San Benito Petén, Guatemala - March 2020 - A youth ministry meeting for young people from the "Cristo Negro de Petén" area of the Apostolic Vicariate of Petén was held on March 1 on the theme "What is a vicariate?" 74 young people from the central area of the Department of Petén participated in the event. They discussed the current state the department has to deal with, how the local Church acts and what are the different roles to which the petenera young and Catholic Church are called. The meeting's purpose was to unite the young people of all three parishes in the area, to make them feel brothers called by God to live the synodality with the same missionary enthusiasm. The activity ended with a Eucharistic celebration presided by Salesian Fr Luis Fernando Acevedo.
