Udonthani, Thailand - March 2021 - Don Bosco used to say: “A Salesian house without music is like a body without a soul”. This is why the Salesian schools of Thailand try to encourage students to practice their musical skills. The "Don Bosco Vitthaya" school, in Udonthani, in the north-east of the country, encourages students to love various types of music through learning in the classroom and in musical groups, so that they can exercise their skills according to their interests. Fr Thomas Smith Daengampan, the Director of the school, initiated a special activity, entitled "Music as a method of learning", which took place in the Institute's meeting room. During the event, the students played both in an orchestra and in groups with ethnic, traditional and modern musical instruments, drums, percussion, animation music, flag wavers ... The event was an opportunity for the three thousand students to love and appreciate music more.

Bangalore, India - March 2021 - Young people from the "Don Bosco Youth" group from Lingarajapuram, Bangalore, organized a pilgrimage to the church of St. Joseph in the Chamarajpet district, declared a shrine on the occasion of the Jubilee Year of St. Joseph. The pilgrimage was attended by 25 young people from the parish who, divided into small groups, made the Via Crucis and prayed the Rosary. When they reached the Shine of St Joseph, they participated in the Eucharistic celebration together with the young people of the place and prayed in front of the saint's statue. Later, the young people visited the “Bosco Mane” Salesian house, which takes care of street children.

France - March 2021 - On 12 and 13 March the first sessions of Salesian Youth Ministry on the theme "Moved by Hope" were held via video conference, with the participation of various members of the Salesian Family: headmasters, students, educators, teachers, animators and young people of the SYM. About 120 connections were recorded, including some from groups, from France, Morocco, Tunisia, Guadeloupe, Belgium and Italy. Fr Fabio Attard, former General Councilor for Youth Ministry, currently Coordinator of the Ongoing Formation Project for Salesians and Laity in Europe, invited the participants to recognize the temptations that may arise in the face of this pandemic: fear, inertia, closure, pessimism. By proposing a way to resist "It is not so much a question of doing as of being"; and strengthening one's relationship with Jesus and the values of the Gospel. "Hope is above all an attitude of a heart full of the presence of Jesus," said Fr Attard, exhorting us to be particularly attentive to listening to young people, to welcoming them, as Don Bosco did, and to helping families in difficulty to cause of the pandemic.

Bangalore, India - March 2021 - On 18 March, in the presence of the Salesian Provincial of India-Bangalore (INK), Fr Jose Koyckal, the Archbishop of Bangalore, Msgr. Peter Machado, ordained 19 Salesian deacons. The celebration took place at the “Kristu Jyoti College”, the house of the Salesian Theological Studentate in Bangalore.
