São Paulo, Brazil - January 2021 - On 30 January, in the parish dedicated to Mary Help of Christians in São Paulo, Salesians Alexandre Angelotti Cruz and Denis Alves de Castro were ordained deacons by Msgr. Hilario Moser, SDB, bishop emeritus of Tubarão.
Udine, Italy - January 2021 - Always attentive to the world of young people, the Salesian Institute "Bearzi" in Udine presents to the public its new musical project, "Le promesse che ho scritto sulla pelle - The promises I wrote on my skin", a song created with the aim of telling the world of young people by young people themselves. At the center of the project are the thoughts of the students of five Bearzi high school classes who, guided by their teachers, shared their concerns about life, their choices, and their future in general. “Credere che tutto sia possibile anche quando è incomprensibile - Believing that everything is possible even when it is incomprehensible” is not only the song's refrain, but also the message of hope this song wants to bring to all the young. Lo Cañas, Chile - January 2021 - On 30 January, Fr Carlo Lira, Provincial of the Salesian Province of Chile (CIL), presided over the Eucharistic celebration during which Salesians Daniel Cerda and Marcelo Rojas made their Perpetual Profession.
Moscow, Russia - January 2021 - On January 31, the feast day of Don Bosco was celebrated in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. During Mass, presided by the Apostolic Nuncio in Russia, Archbishop Giovanni d'Aniello, the Salesian Cooperators renewed their promises. At the end of the celebration, hundreds of the cathedral's faithful and guests received a blessing with the relics of St. John Bosco. The Salesian publishing house "Don Bosco" organized an exhibition of Salesian books together with the oratory's young people and the Salesian Cooperators. Furthermore, the Salesian animators prepared a great feast for all the children of the catechism and a group of young people got to know the life of Don Bosco through a virtual itinerary across the Salesian sites. In the evening, the young people of the parish oratory made a journey on the life and spirituality of Don Bosco. Currently in Moscow there is a Salesian community with a parish, an oratory and a youth center, catechesis, a Cooperator Center, a Street Youth Assistance Center; two communities of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians and the Salesian Cooperators.
