Pune, India - August 2020 - The "Don Bosco Development Society", the Planning and Development Office of the India-Mumbai Province (INB), reached another 2,200 poor and needy among society's most vulnerable people in Pune, near Mumbai: widows, disabled, exploited women, migrants… The aid kits distributed contain food supplies for a month and basic hygiene products. This relief work in Pune was financially supported by “AXA Business Services”.

Santa Ana, El Salvador - El Salvador has recently received two severe blows: in addition to the Covid-19 pandemic, tropical storm Amanda has also struck. For this reason, the Salesians have converted the structures of the "San José" Institute of Santa Ana into a center of solidarity and collected donations in kind from the relatives of their pupils and benefactors, which they have made available to those most in need. At the same time, the Salesian organization "Fundación Salvador del Mundo" (FUSALMO), with the help of benefactors, friendly companies and institutions, is helping a large number of young people and families through the so-called "Baskets of the Joy of Solidarity", which contain basic foods, cleaning products and study materials.

Antanananarivo, Madagascar - 9 August 2020 - During a solemn Eucharistic concelebration, in the presence of several Salesians and representatives of the Salesian Family, the inauguration ceremony of Fr Innocenzo Bizimana as the new Superior of the "Mary Immaculate" Vice Province of Madagascar and the Mauritius Islands (MDG) took place. Presiding over the ceremony, delegated by the Rector Major, was the former MDG Provincial, Fr Charles Armand Randimbisoa, given that the Regional Councilor for Africa and Madagascar, Fr Alphonse Owoudou, was unable to leave Cameroon due to Covid-19 travel restrictions. The ceremony was also broadcast live on Radio Don Bosco Madagascar and via Facebook.

Kabwe, Zambia - 6 August 2020 - Last Thursday, 13 novices made their first religious profession at the Salesian parish dedicated to Saint Mary: two from the Vice Province of Southern Africa (AFM) and 11 from the Vice Province of Zambia-Malawi-Zimbabwe-Namibia (ZMB). The Mass was presided over by the Bishop of Kabwe, the Salesian Fr Clement Mulenga, SDB, in the presence of ZMB Provincial, Fr Christopher Rychcik. Also, for the new formative year, the inter-provincial novitiate of Kabwe is ready to welcome 11 other novices: one from the AFM and 10 from ZMB.
