Fr Maria Arokiam Kanaga was born on 4 October 1956 in Varadarajanpet, Trichy, India. He entered the novitiate of Yercaud and made his first religious vows on 24 May 1976 and perpetual vows on the same day in 1982 in Madras. He studied Theology and obtained his doctorate in Philosophy at the Salesian Pontifical University in Rome. He was ordained a priest on May 25, 1986, in Rome.
He served as Director at the "Don Bosco" center of Tirupattur (1992-94), the Theological Institute of Madras-Poonamallee (1994-96), the Salesian center of Yercaud (2002-03), and the "Sacred Heart" Institute of Tirupattur (2003-2008).
For the Madras Province, he was Vicar (1996-2002) and Delegate for Youth Ministry (2006-07).
He participated in General Chapters 24, 25, 26, 27 and 28, and was a member of the GC27 Pre-Chapter Commission.
General Chapter 26 (2008) elected him Regional Councillor for South Asia and General Chapter 27 (2014) confirmed him in this position.
Fr Horacio Barbieri was born in Coronel Moldes, Argentina, on July 16, 1965. He attended the Salesian novitiate in La Plata, making his first religious vows on January 31, 1985. After his perpetual vows on 6 October 1990 in Cordoba, he was ordained a priest in Cordoba on December 18, 1993.
He served in numerous Salesian communities, as Director in the "Domingo Savio" houses of Cordoba (1994-97), in San Ambrosio (1998-2003) and in the Provincial Center of Cordoba (2003-07 and 2015-19). He was Director and Master of Novices in Alta Gracia (2007-2015). Since January 2019, he has been directing the Regional Center for Specific Formation of the Salesian Coadjutor (CRESCO), located in Guatemala.
He also held numerous provincial level positions in the ARN Province: over the years, he was Delegate for Youth Ministry (2004-08) and the Pastoral Educational Community (2004-05), the Missions (2004-08), Formation (2011-2016) and for the Salesian Family (2016-2019).
