(ANS - Krakow) - Nine days of preparation for the great feast of Don Bosco through the Novena, exchanges of "Viva Don Bosco" for greetings, prayers, community life, exams ... these are the fundamental elements that have marked the life of the interprovincial theologate of Krakow in the days around the Feast Day of Don Bosco.

In the last few days, the whole community concentrated its gaze and thoughts on the person of the Founder of the Salesian Family; very useful, in this sense, was the Novena in his honor, which served to prepare one's heart for the celebration of January 31st. At the same time, theology students also remained focused on their first semester exams, through which they were called to testify to the knowledge acquired in the first semester to their professors.

At the end of the session, on Saturday 30 January, the Salesian students were divided into three groups: those who love excursions went to Leskowiec, in the mountains, to admire the beautiful winter landscape; those who love sports, such as football and volleyball, went to the Salesian school in Nowa Huta; finally, a third group represented the community at the celebration of thanksgiving for the 100th anniversary of the canonical approval of the Congregation of St. Michael the Archangel (whose members are called "Michelites"), belonging to the Salesian Family since 2000, as the 21st group of this leafy branch born from Don Bosco.

On the exact day of the Feast of Don Bosco, last Sunday, the program was very intense: at 12 local time, Fr Mateusz Koziołek presided over a solemn Eucharist, which was also broadcast live on the Facebook page; in the afternoon, at 17:00, thanks to an online conference by Fr Krystian Sukiennik, SDB, who studies Theology in Italy, the figure of the Father and Teacher of the Youth was illustrated. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, it was not possible to complete the program with the traditional "bingo" with all the people involved in the local pastoral ministry; but the moment of leisure was nevertheless assured, thanks to Internet quizzes on the life and works of Don Bosco.

The culmination of the celebration was reached in the evening with a community meeting and an evening of agape: cheerful, full of emotions, joy and competitions. It was also an occasion for the clerics to thank and pay special attention to the Rector of the community, Fr Adam Paszek. The thanks was then extended to all the members of the Salesian Family and to all those who contribute in a spiritual and material way to supporting the Salesian works.

The Rector's message and the common prayer for the intercession of St. John Bosco concluded the feast, which was very different from those of previous years, but no less beautiful.
