(ANS - Nairobi) - The second phase of the Capacity Development Training for the managerial staff of the Salesian Vocational Training Centers has officially begun. Currently, 79 participants from French-speaking countries and 48 from Portuguese-speaking countries in Sub-Saharan Africa are attending to increase their skills in the management of Vocational Training Centers.

On January 25, the International Training Center of the International Labor Organization (ITC-ILO), in collaboration with "Don Bosco Tech Africa" (DBTA), created an introductory webinar intended for participants from Angola, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Chad, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Madagascar, Mozambique, Republic of the Congo, and Rwanda.

The following day, Tuesday 26 January, Fr Tarcizio Morais, Coordinator of the School and Vocational Training of the Youth Ministry Department, officially kicked off the training course, which took place in the form of a webinar. Fr Morais highlighted the history of vocational training in the Congregation, recalling the great importance it has always held.

The webinar also featured Fr George TJ, Executive Director of the DBTA, who urged the participants to remain focused and always remember their responsibility towards poor and marginalized young people. Fr TJ said he was especially optimistic that this course - which will end on March 26th - will improve the management skills of the Vocational Training Centers.

This important project is part of the DBTA's Global Program, financed by the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany through the NGO "Don Bosco Mondo" of Bonn.
