RMG – Support material from Social Communication Dept for 55th World Communications Day

17 May 2021

(ANS - Rome) - Yesterday, 16 May, on the Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord, the 55th World Communications Day was celebrated. The theme of Pope Francis' message is: "Come and see" (Jn 1:46). Communicate by encountering people where and as they are. With this theme, the Holy Father wanted to underline the importance of experiencing, of "seeing with one's own eyes".

On the occasion of this Day, the Department for Social Communication of the Salesians of Don Bosco has produced aids - posters, videos and the Lectio - to pray and reflect together on the theme chosen by the Holy Father. All the resources were curated by Fr Harris Pakkam and Fr Ricardo Campoli, while ANS translated the material.

The purpose of this initiative is to direct the materials to the animators and delegates of Social Communication, to spread and deepen the theme of this 55th World Communications Day. These aids, therefore, will allow anyone who wishes - Salesians and non-Salesians - to deepen the Message of Pope Francis and to understand the importance of "Come and see" more profoundly.

The aids, all freely downloadable, are already available in various languages on the sdb.org site. Here, in fact, it is possible to find the posters, the video and the Lectio.
