Fr Tryphon Kalimira, Vice Provincial of Central Africa (AFC), Fr Aurélien Mukangwa, Superior of the "Saint Joseph" Delegation of Eastern Works (AFC-EST), Fr Jean-Pierre Muhima, Rector of the Salesian community of Ngangi, other Salesians of Don Bosco, together with young people and their families also took part in the ceremony.
During the moving ceremony, Fr Martoglio also expressed a wish for the whole local community: "May this building and the blessing of this stone be the foundation for the kingdom of God," he said. He, then invited the girls who attend the Cutting, Sewing and Hairdressing courses of the "Foyer Anuarite" of the "Don Bosco Ngangi" House in Goma, to strengthen their prayers for the peaceful and rapid progress of the construction work of this center, of which they would be the prime beneficiaries.
For his part, Fr Muhima said that he was confident about the completion of this building project, even though it would certainly require a substantial financial commitment.
After this ceremony, the Vicar of the Rector Major continued his schedule by taking part in the Council of the St. Joseph Delegation, held at the "Maison Marguerite" in Goma, the headquarters of the Delegation. Yesterday's day was anything but restful for Fr Martoglio. Before returning to the city of Goma, he presided over the assembly of the Salesian confreres of the Salesian Houses of Bukavu, Nyakadaka and Uvira at the Don Bosco Center in Bukavu, and – just before that - had made a brief stopover to see the house to which the Salesian community of Bukavu will probably move in the coming months.
