RMG – A milestone towards World “Don Bosco Techs”

14 December 2021

(ANS – Rome) - The first meeting of executive directors of Don Bosco Techs of Africa, India, ASEAN, America and Spain was held on 11th December 2021 at 11.30 in online platform of ZOOM. The meeting began with the prayer lead by Fr George Mathew.

The initiative of the Youth Ministry Department to coordinate all the Don Bosco Techs had begun already in the month of May. As a milestone in this journey towards WORLD DON BOSCO TECHS, Fr Claudio Cartes, Mr. Miguel Esquíroz Noble, coordinators of Vocational Training Centres of DB Tech America and Tech Don Bosco Spain respectively, were present and presented their industrious effort to coordinate the centres. Their sharing enlightened and encouraged the participants for a close convergence and effective networking.

The participants studied the minimum working guideline on networking of ‘WORLD DON BOSCO TECHS’, presented by Fr Patrick Anthonyraj, Office of TVET, Youth Ministry Department. It was approved unanimously. Fr Miguel Garcia, the Councillor for Youth Ministry, introduced the essential themes on which all the DB Techs can begin to reflect in synergy. ‘The Spirituality and the Ethics’ was taken as a central theme for the next meeting which is scheduled on March 12, 2022.

It must be taken into account that, normally, the students of our centers are carriers of different ideas and conceptions of life, with a multiplicity of world views. However, our formative proposal is first and foremost an ecosystem where the young person is invited to an integral human growth.  For this reason also, the absence of “religious instruction” in TVET should not be conceived as a limit, but as an opportunity to intervene with greater clarity in their spiritual and moral formation, in the breadth and depth of the life of faith. The ethical-religious dimension thus constitutes for people a factor of personal integration and harmonious identity.

With greater satisfaction and the enthusiasm to walk together, the meeting was concluded with the prayer lead by Fr Dindo Vitug.
