Austria – Meeting of Provincials of Central and Northern European Region

(ANS - Vienna) - The Meeting of the Provincials of the Central and Northern European Region took place on May 6-8, 2022, in Vienna, in the Province of "Guardian Angels" of Austria. It was coordinated and guided by the Regional Councilor, Fr Roman Jachimowicz. The Vicar of the Rector Major, Fr Stefano Martoglio, also participated in the work, together with other leaders of Salesian organizations and structures and the Salesian Family, all of whom cooperated in the meeting’s success.

On the first day, after the greetings and the presentation of the participants, Fr Jachimowicz set the work schedule and introduced the themes. This was followed by a lecture given by Fr Stefano Martoglio on the theme of Salesian religious identity, which was then accompanied by a question and answer session to explore the topic in greater depth.

In the successive work sessions, other speakers included Fr Joan Lluís Playà, Central Delegate of the Rector Major for the Secretariat for the Salesian Family; Bro. Domenico Nguyen, SDB, World Delegate for Salesian Cooperators and Past Pupils of Don Bosco; Fr Pavel Ženíšek, of the Salesian Missions Sector; Miguel Esquíroz, Director of "Tech Don Bosco", of the "Spain – St James the Greater" Province (SSM), and Ivan Toscano, reference person for project planning of the National Centre of Salesian Works for vocational training/ongoing education (CNOS-FAP).

The speakers, who represented various sectors of the Salesian mission, enriched the contents of the meeting through their interventions and in the moments of dialogue and exchange of experiences, and in this way were able to offer new perspectives on Salesian charismatic action in Europe.

All the participants expressed their heartfelt thanks to the Provincial of Austria, Fr Siegfried Kettner, for the generous welcome and the fraternal atmosphere experienced.
