Italy – "7 DON'T STEAL the just reward": interactive-experiential path on theme of work

01 June 2022

(ANS - Turin) - The Mission Animation of the Salesians and Daughters of Mary Help of Christians of Piedmont and Valle d'Aosta, in collaboration with the "Don Bosco House Museum" and the Regional Board of Vocational Training "CNOS-FAP," is pleased to promote the mission exhibition "7 NON RUBARE la giusta mercede" curated by Massimiliano Ungarelli, a well-known contemporary artist from Turin.

Now in its fourth edition, the exhibition aims to offer an interactive and experiential journey that, starting with one of the 10 commandments, aims to highlight those fundamental principles that make up and guarantee the dignity of human life, including that of work and the possibility of building a future. By "just reward or merit," taking up the title of the exhibition, means the possibility of a full and gratifying fulfillment of life for oneself and others in the enhancement of the work of one's hands, by one’s own effort.

The itinerary take places within the Casa Don Bosco House Museum and the Salesian Historical Printing House. These locations are the living memory of the work of Don Bosco, who thought of the vocational training centers, today CNOS-FAP, to give young people the opportunity to train and qualify themselves, obtain a decent job.

Although it will remain open to the public from October to December 2022, the exhibition will include specific tours for school groups during from October 10 to 22, 2022, the month dedicated to the missions, on making reservations at: This email address is being protected from spambots. Young people in the first cycle of secondary school studies, thanks to a path dedicated to them, will be able to begin to deal with the issue of work as an important element in the fulfillment of the person for whom it is necessary to form oneself from the very start. This experience may be an opportunity for them to reflect on the process of choosing the secondary school course to attend.

Young people in the second cycle of studies, on the other hand, will have the opportunity to look at the world of work from different perspectives. The proposed pictorial works and activities will allow a discussion regarding the issues of child exploitation, childhood stolen from innocent children, and social injustices, leading to the development of a critical view of these situations to enhance what are the true values, dignity, and the importance of work. Participants will thus have the opportunity to reflect on the great opportunities that life, despite the normal travails of the journey, is offering them.

Born in Turin on January 21, 1968, Massimiliano Ungarelli lives in the southern part of the province and has always had a passion for drawing. A self-taught artist, a craftsman in love with drawing in all its expressions, he worked as a cartoonist and illustrator until 1998. Since 2006 he has devoted himself to painting, particularly figurative painting in the sacred sphere, which coincides, not coincidentally, with his conversion: "I was 38 years old when I fell off my horse on the road to Damascus," he says of himself. Thirteen years later, in 2019, his first exhibition took place.
