"If Everything is Love" (Si todo es amor) expresses the profound meaning of the experiences lived by every young person in Salesian spaces: stories and paths of faith, struggles, dreams and hopes, joys and motivations that drive so many Salesians and people involved in the Salesian charism to continue to give what they are, to serve others with gratuitousness and sincerity.
The song seeks to capture the experience of "loving" following the example of Jesus. A love without pretension or appearances, which produces life and desires to do good to all. It is also the love that Don Bosco shared with his neighbors: a love that fills life! Every Salesian presence lives when there are lives capable of love. There are many people who give life to the Salesian charism in every corner of the planet, trying day by day to do what is best for the good of young people.
With all this life and these feelings in the heart, this project was born, the result of some meditations by Stefan Crescia and Isaac Aguilera. Their work is nourished by the Rector Major's Strenna and the gift of being able to accompany the lives of young people: their stories and their lives are the best example and stimulus to do "Do all through love, nothing through constraint."
For the musical composition, the two Salesians thought it should be a project of many, which is why the song ended up being a musical construction involving lay and consecrated people from Argentina, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic. The same happened with the video accompanying the song, which reflects Salesian faces and presences from different places and Provinces.
The authors are grateful for the participation and collaboration of Gabriela Ferreira, Cintia Mora, Jorge Martínez, Cristian Mora, Mauricio Ozuna, Karla Mata, Leonel Ramos, Félix Almeida, and Iván Rodríguez for this great work and for putting their gifts at the service of the mission.
