(ANS - Kraków) - On August 28, 2022, at 39 Tyniecka Street in Kraków, at the Salesian Theological Studentate, the "Salesian Volunteer Missionary Movement" (SWM) "Młodzi Światu" of the Kraków Province (PLS) celebrated its 25th anniversary of activity. The celebration brought together more than 300 participants.

The initiative was named "Gratitude Day" by the organizers because the basic intention was to thank the benefactors of the institution for accompanying and supporting its work.

At 11:00 a.m. local time, a solemn Eucharist was celebrated, filled with significant presences and gestures. In fact, the Mass was presided over by Fr Marcin Kaznowski, SDB, PLS Provincial, and concelebrated by several priests, including also Fr Jacek Zdzieborski, director of the Salesian Mission Center in Warsaw; also, at the beginning of the celebration all those present were welcomed by Fr Tadeusz Goryczka, current head of SWM and Provincial Delegate for Mission Animation; the homily, on the other hand, was delivered by Fr Andrzej Policht, currently working in Zhytomyr, Ukraine, and founder, in 1997, of the SWM; during the Eucharist, there was also the blessing of a volunteer departing for Bolivia, who on the occasion received a missionary cross and a rosary from the hands of the Provincial.

After Mass, two lay collaborators of the Salesians, Mr. and Mrs. Bumb, animated a presentation of the important achievements of the Volunteers in these 25 years of activity. This activity was initially introduced by an artistic moment curated by a young Ukrainian musician, who played two songs with the traditional bandura instrument, and concluded with a game with prizes.

Afterwards, everyone was able to participate in a festive agape moment in the Global Education Park with traditional Polish specialties offered to all present, while the "Fausystem" band performed on stage.

In the afternoon, the activities continued with a set of activities and proposals designed for adults and children: a tour of the "Missionary Village," games and dynamics especially for the youngest, various workshops, such as teaching African dances, the opening of the missionary store where to buy souvenirs from countries around the world...

Finally, the presence of several missionaries should not be forgotten, who with their testimonies shared their impressions about the different realities of the world and the missionary work they do.
