India – “You have stolen my heart” - Rector Major to the youth

(ANS Guwahati) – More than 400 youngsters gathered around the Rector Major in an evening of music and dance at Don Bosco Institute, Guwahati. They  expressed their youthful vigor in various presentations and performances to express their joy to have in their midst, the presence of the Father of youth.

The musical evening, the lively participation and the typical Salesian environment created by the enthusiastic and lively youth made a big difference, as they were experiencing in persona, the tenth Successor of Don Bosco. There were various performances from the youngsters from the different Salesian institutions. The young at risk too were present and offered different items like song, dance, mime and skit to entertain and highlight the centenary theme.

The Rector Major joined the youth in their singing and dancing, and also performed a Spanish number too. In his response to the youth, he exclaimed “You have stolen my heart! Your joy, vibrancy and enthusiasm is a powerful gush of positive and spiritual energy for all of us”. He exhorted the youth to continue to live and strengthen the miracle of the Salesian missions in northeast India.

Bishop Joseph Aind SDB, Bishop emeritus of Dibrugarh, Salesian Provincials, Vice-Provincials and Sister Provincials and many religious were among the dignitaries present for the gathering.
