The three appointments will take place in February - Thursday 16, Monday 20, and Friday 24, from 1 to 3 p.m. (UTC+1) - and will take place digitally on the Zoom platform. Methodologically, they will take the form of a central talk followed by a time for questions. Guiding the proceedings will be lecturer and writer Guillermo Cánovas, Director of the Observatory for the Promotion of the Healthy Use of Technology (EducaLIKE) and of the “Safer Internet” program of the European Commission's Center for Children in Spain (2002-2014). The talks will be in Spanish, but simultaneous translation will be provided in Italian, English, French, Portuguese.
The first module will address the problematic behaviors enacted by children and adolescents, as well as the risk factors one needs to identify to intervene preventively. The subject of the second meeting will be social networks, with a focus on issues of privacy, security, and digital reputation. In the last session, digital stress will be discussed, starting with constant connectivity and its consequences on children and adolescents and their relationships and performance.
The itinerary is designed primarily for educators, animators, and Salesians involved in all sectors of Salesian Youth Ministry (schools and Vocational Training Centers, oratories-youth centers, parishes, social works, universities...) and for those responsible for Social Communication in the Provinces.
The purpose of this itinerary is to train educators to handle situations that generate the most conflict in digital environments; to help educators prevent the development of computer addictions, digital stress, and lack of privacy; to provide educators with the knowledge needed to identify each of the problems; and to offer them practical techniques and guidelines for dealing with each situation.
