Europe – European School for Animators: New Animation

21 February 2023

(ANS) - Training courses proposed under the "Erasmus+" Program by the European network of Salesian youth organizations "Don Bosco Youth-Net" (DBYN) and the Salesian association "Youth and Social Tourism" (TGS National) are resuming. Scheduled for next spring, the first initiative is an international youth training proposal: the "European School of Animators: New animation."

The training course aims to prepare international youth animators who wish to explore and share specific topics of interest with young people in a Salesian context.

The training will focus on some key topics such as: Don Bosco's educational style and methods, reflection and reaction to changes in the reality of youth work, general skills and learning new techniques, and exchange of good practices in youth work.

The goal of the project is to give youth workers and youth leaders an opportunity to improve their skills through non-formal intercultural learning. A wide range of workshops and training sessions will help participants improve and implement their youth-related work skills.

Salesian youth animation and the meaningful presence of young animators caring for other youth is the core of the training course, with specific reference to the Salesian education system.

The seminar is open to 24 volunteers between the ages of 16 and 30 from different European countries (Austria, Belgium, Germany, Greece, Italy, Malta, Montenegro, Poland, Slovakia, Spain, Ukraine), with good English skills, open and motivated for an international experience, with or without experience in the field of youth work.

The seminar shall be held in English, coordinated by DBYN, and co-funded by the European Union's "Erasmus+" Program. It will be hosted by "TGS Nazionale" and Salesians per il Sociale - the civil body of the Salesians of Italy that accompanies the pastoral dimension of educational malaise and poverty - at the Centro Nazionale Opere Salesiane (CNOS) of Italy and the Salesian Institute "Pio XI" in Rome.

Applicants will be asked for a small participation fee, and travel expenses will be reimbursed in full, up to a maximum calculated according to travel distance.

Applications must be received by Feb. 25, 2023.
