Addressing the youth, the RM said with great fondness that if Don Bosco were with us today, he would be happy that his missionary vision has extended from Turin to Chiguru, a remote place. He affirmed again that the youth and children, especially the poorest, marginalized and those on the periphery, are the people in the Salesian world.
During the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, the Rector Major encouraged the young always remember three lessons: “Never forget God in life, because He brings happiness; Allow God to dwell in you; and become people of generosity but not greed.”
The Holy Mass was followed by a short felicitation programme with special dances performed by the Navajeevan boys and girls. Fr Ratna, the Director of Navajeevan, welcomed the Rector Major at Chiguru, the village of the Children. On this occasion, the pioneers of the Young at Risk ministry in Hyderabad Province were felicitated by the Rector Major. The relentless and hardworking staff members of Don Bosco Navajeevan Chiguru, who successfully placed more than 15,000 children home, were felicitated and commended by the Rector Major.
