There will be around 100 countries represented at the Jubilee, of which the largest delegations come from Italy, Poland, France, Spain, Germany, Portugal, Croatia, the United States, Canada, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, El Salvador, the Philippines, India, South Korea, Indonesia, Nigeria, Congo.
The jubilee event begins with some events that everyone can attend: pilgrimages to the Holy Doors, between 1 pm and 5 pm (UTC+2), which everyone can experience in a personal form. Following this, at 7 pm, there will be a Prayer Vigil presided over in St. Peter's Basilica by Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime, SDB, Pro-Prefect of the Dicastery for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life, as well as Rector Major Emeritus of the Salesian Congregation.
Then, on Thursday 9 October, at 10.30am, Mass will be held for everyone in St. Peter's Square, presided over by Pope Leo XIV.
From Thursday afternoon, some initiatives will take place by the Dicastery for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life for the 4,000 pilgrims accredited to these events.
From 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm, reflection meetings divided by forms of consecrated life will take place: in the Paul VI Hall the religious institutes, at the Urbaniana University the contemplative institutes, at the Santa Croce University the secular institutes, in the New Synod Hall the consecrated women of the Ordo Virginum, in the Hall of the Jesuit General Curia the “New Forms” of consecrated life, at the Headquarters of the International Union of Superiors General (UISG) the Societies of Apostolic Life.
Another event in which everyone is invited to participate is that of Dialogues with the City, on the evening of October 9th. Also in this case there will be the protagonism of the Salesian Family. The initiative, in fact, called under the motto “Notes of Life”, includes moments of meeting between consecrated people and citizens in various squares of Rome: in Piazza dei Mirti the themed meeting “Commitment towards the ‘last’ – Listening to the cry of the poor”, in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele the meeting “Universal Fraternity – Solidarity”; and in Piazza Don Bosco the meeting “Care and custody of creation – Protection of the environment”, where Salesian novices and novices of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, together and perpetually and consecrated professed members of other religious families, will animate artistic performances, moments of prayer and reflections on the contribution of Consecrated Life to the care of the Common Home.
Among the scheduled events there will also be a moment of prayer in various places in the city on the evening of Friday 10th, from 8pm to 9pm. In five churches in the city, consecrated persons will animate the prayer in as many languages: in Italian in the church of Santa Maria in Via, in English in the church of San Silvestro, in French in the church of San Luigi dei Francesi, in Portuguese in the church of Sant’Andrea della Valle, in Spanish in the basilica of Santa Maria Sopra Minerva.
On Saturday, the 11th, at 8 o'clock, we will continue with a meeting in the Paul VI Hall on the theme of “Peace”, for accredited participants, while in the evening, from 7 pm to 9 pm, for everyone, in the Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls there will be a moment of prayer with the crossing of the Holy Door.
Finally, on Sunday, pilgrims will participate in the Mass presided over by Leo XIV in St. Peter's Square for the Jubilee of Marian Spirituality.
