The meeting began with self-introductions, warmly welcoming new delegates to the sector. Fr. Orendain introduced himself and shared his vision for Social Communications within the Salesian mission. He emphasized three key pillars: communion, witness, and mission, underscoring that the role of communication is not merely to transmit information but to foster transformation and unity.
In the second part of his presentation, Fr. Orendain outlined the sector's priorities and expectations for the next six years at the global, regional, and local levels. He highlighted the new organizational structure, encouraged collaboration among provinces, and shared resources to strengthen the sector. He also urged delegates to contribute their own resources and expertise, promoting a spirit of cooperation.
Fr. Harris Pakkam, Director of ANS (Agenzia iNfo Salesiana), addressed the group, providing guidelines for submitting news and information to ensure every province is well-represented and visible to mission partners. He emphasized maintaining credibility and consistency in all communications.
The meeting concluded with an open forum, where delegates shared insights, challenges, and ideas for improving the sector’s impact. Fr. Orendain expressed his gratitude for their dedication and urged them to continue their efforts with enthusiasm and commitment, reaffirming the importance of their work in advancing the Salesian mission.
With a renewed sense of purpose, the 14 EAO Social Communications Delegates are poised to build and communicate with greater focus, clarity, and creativity, amplifying the Salesian message across the region while fostering deeper connections.
