RMG – Rector Major's Animation visit to Croatia

(ANS - Rome) - As soon as the celebratory events for the feast of Mary Help of Christians are over, a new journey awaits the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, always intent on meeting all his confreres personally and personally learning about the Salesian works across the globe: on the occasion of the centenary of the Salesian presence in that territory, the Rector Major will be in Croatia from 25 to 29 May.

Fr Á.F. Artime will reach Rijeka on the evening of Friday 25, welcomed and greeted by young people of the local Salesian center, and will attend an artistic-cultural show celebrating the centenary of that house.

The following morning, after the visit to the city's Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, he will meet the local Salesian Families and celebrate the Eucharist. In the afternoon there will be a transfer to Split, where the 10th Successor of Don Bosco shall have a new chance to meet young Croats.

Sunday 27, after a meeting with the Salesian Cooperators and the Salesian Family in Split, a solemn Mass is scheduled for the 50th anniversary of the presence of the Salesians in the "Mary Help of Christians" parish in Split. Subsequently, the Rector Major - who will be accompanied by his Secretary, Fr Horacio López, and by the Councilor for the Central and Northern Europe Region, Fr. Tadeusz Rozmus - will reach the country's capital, Zagreb.

On Monday the specific appointments for the confreres of Fr Á.F. Artime: in the morning, the meeting with the members of the Provincial Council - outgoing and the newly-appointed - and then with the Mass for the inauguration of the new Provincial, Fr Tihomir Šutalo; in the afternoon, he shall be in a meeting with all the Salesians in the Province.

In the evening the Rector Major visits the prenovitiate of Zagreb-Podsused and in the morning of Tuesday 28 he will return to Rome.
