INDIA – By everyone collaborating we will return to normality (update)

(ANS - Kerala) -The Don Bosco Angamaly school is the one that has suffered most in the recent floods: almost three days stuck on the second floor, with very limited food and water. On the ground floor the water level, reaching about 3 meters, has destroyed furniture, library, books, computers, etc. Serious the damage suffered also by the Salesian residence and by the chapel.

After many days, life is slowly returning to normal, thanks to the support of Salesians and seminarians of Don Bosco Bhavan Mannuthy, helped by their friends.

The I PANE foundation has collected generous contributions and is working with other organizations in Bangalore who have been transporting materials to Kerala for flood victims.

The Salesian Don Bosco Trivandrum bought and collected clothes and sleeping kits, distributing them to more than 3,000 people. Rescue work continues and should broaden even more in forthcoming days. The DBV Trivandrum has also formed support groups for young volunteers, charged with cleaning the houses to make them livable when the inhabitants return.
