Over 2,000 people attended the appointment, on an almost spring-like day, many children and youngsters with parents, plus schools, parishes, municipal administrations, associations and groups. Beautiful the colorful billboards and banners of the children who remembered the testimony and example of love, goodness and generosity of Fr Convertini, as an instrument and messenger of peace.

Fr Convertini was in fact a sower and builder of peace, walking on foot or with his famous bicycle, exercising the ministry of reconciliation and becoming a tireless missionary and an authentic evangelizer: "How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of the messenger of good news that announces peace, the messenger of good that announces salvation"(Is 52: 7) was remembered during the event.

On this occasion, Fr Pierluigi Cameroni, Postulator General for the Causes of Saints of the Salesian Family, recalled that Fr Convertini, following the example of the prophets and apostles, was a humble instrument of peace between Christians, Hindus and Muslims: not through discourses or realizing particular works, but as his mother had taught him when he was a child, that is, by putting love in the things he did and bringing peace and reconciliation in the hearts, in the families and in the villages he saw, met and visited.
