(ANS - Downey) - With a message sent to the Salesians of his Province, Fr Melchor Trinidad, Provincial of the "St Andrew" Province of the United States West (SUO), we learned of the loss of Fr Arthur (Arturo) Lenti, which took place yesterday, 6 January, at a hospital in Downey, Los Angeles, California. Fr Lenti was a Salesian known throughout the Congregation and even beyond for his writings on Don Bosco, and in particular for his monumental work “Don Bosco: History and Spirit”, whose seven volumes, translated into many languages, have become classics of Salesian literature.

(ANS - Rome) - After just a few days of broadcasting, there has already been much positive feedback to the transmission of the Eucharist from the Salesian Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Rome - every day, three times a day, live on TV2000, and Sunday also on Canale 5. And on Sunday 30 January, on the eve of the Feast of Don Bosco, Rai 1 will also broadcast a "Salesian" Mass with live coverage of the Eucharist that the Rector Major, Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, will preside from the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians of Valdocco, Turin.

(ANS - Belo Horizonte) - The "St. John Bosco" Province of Brazil-Belo Horizonte (BBH) in 2022 will celebrate 75 years of activity in the promotion of young people in situations of social vulnerability.  In tune with Don Bosco, it is still dedicated to the education and evangelization of young people, through initiatives and projects in schools, universities, social works, and parishes in the states of Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro, Espírito Santo, Goiás, Tocantins, and the Federal District.

(ANS - Cebu) - The efforts of the Salesian Family present in the south of the Philippines continue to help the local population cope with the damage caused by the "super typhoon" Rai, locally called Odette, and by other misfortunes that sadly hit the poor.

(ANS – Seoul) – Twelve years after the premature death of the Korean Salesian missionary in South Sudan, the life story of Fr John Lee (1962-2010) still continues to inspire many in South Korea and beyond. The commemorative tenth anniversary events were postponed until January 2022 due to the pandemic.

(ANS - Rome) - There is great anticipation throughout the Salesian world for the 2022 edition of the Spirituality Days of the Salesian Family. With little more than a week to go before this important event (January 13-16, 2022) which will gather, in person and in digital mode, thousands of members of the groups of the great tree planted by Don Bosco starting from the spirituality of St. Francis de Sales, the Secretariat for the Salesian Family has announced the detailed program of the appointments: a program rich in events, opportunities for reflection and deepening, moments of communion, sharing and spirituality.
